Accomplished actress Laura Innes turned a failed audition for a minor speaking part into a regular role on NBC's hit ER. She's also directed show episodes, as well a West Wing episode, for which she won an Emmy nod. After graduating from Northwestern University, Innes followed her Dad's advice to "do what you love" and perfected her craft in Chicago and New York theater before moving to L.A. A cause close to her heart is helping recruit potential bone marrow donors for adopted Chinese children.
