Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich talks to Tavis about this year's battle for the White House, the war in Iraq and his book on the health care crisis, Saving Lives and Saving Money. Actor Wren T. Brown discusses his characterization of a Black conservative on the hit sitcom Whoopi.
Newt Gingrich
Newt Gingrich has been busy since leaving his post as U.S. House Speaker. He founded the Center for Health Transformation and chairs the nonpartisan American Solutions. He's also a political analyst and best-selling author of 19 books on a variety of subjects, with titles that include Rediscovering God in America and Real Change. Long involved in various environmental initiatives, he co-wrote A Contract with the Earth. Gingrich has a Ph.D. in history and taught that subject and environmental studies before his election to Congress.
Wren T. Brown
Wren Brown almost didn't pursue a career in show business. He stopped acting to pursue his dream of playing professional tennis, but eventually reversed course, got his SAG card and appeared in McDonald's first 'Chicken McNuggets' campaign. He made his film debut in the comedy, Hollywood Shuffle. Brown has appeared in such popular TV shows as Frasier, The West Wing and Whoopi. He also produced the concert video Boesman & Lena.
